Toombs Central Community,
Mrs. Martha Jean Anderson Lillard, age 79, of the Toombs Central Community, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in the Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina, after a brief illness. She was a native of Toombs County and was a graduate of Lyons High School. She lived in the Toombs Central Community and in Summerville, South Carolina most of her life. She was a homemaker, and was a member of the Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.C. "Hunk" Anderson and Hettie Blalock Anderson, granddaughter, Marsha Rollins Chubb, and her son-in-law, Eddie Rollins.
Mrs. Lillard is survived by her husband, Rex E. Lillard of Eutawville, South Carolina; three daughters Joyce Rollins of Vidalia, Debbie Holladay and husband Brian of Eutawville, and Sherry Strange of Thomaston; two sons, Buddy Smith and wife Terri of Toombs Central, Paul Lillard and wife Jolene of Ellaville; two sisters, Margaret Anderson, and Dale Brantley and husband Johnny, all of Lyons; one brother, J.B. Anderson and wife Margaret of the Normantown Community; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Carroll Gay officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
