Mrs. Frances Marie Taylor Smith, age 75, of Ailey, died Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was born in Blountville, Tennessee and was a graduate of Ft. Meade High School in Ft. Meade, Florida. She lived in Wauchula, Florida and the Tri-City area of Muscle Shoals, Alabama for many years before moving to Toombs and Montgomery Counties in 1978. She retired in 2005 as switchboard operator from Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama. She was a member of the Blockers Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Jack Smith; parents, James Curtis Taylor and Patty Pauline Fields Taylor; and two brothers, Edward Taylor and Gene Taylor.
Mrs. Smith is survived by; three children, Angela Beasley and husband Dwayne of Vidalia, and Darian Taylor and wife Jo Ann of Alston, and Renee Stevenson and husband Wes of Bowling Green, Florida; one sister, Patricia “Pat’ Myers and husband Don of Alston; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 16th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy York and Pastor Albert White officiating. Burial will follow in the Blockers Chapel Church Cemetery with Pastor Reece Mincey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
