Lyons,
Mr. Louie Wayne Johnson, age 65, of Lyons, died Friday, July 5, 2019, in Meadows Health in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County, was a 1971 graduate of Lyons Senior High School, and attended Georgia Southern. He worked with Georgia Machine in Vidalia for several years, and retired after thirty-four years from Edwin I. Hatch Plant. He was Methodist by faith and enjoyed working in his yard, and spending time with and being involved with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Johnson and Eula Pearl Powell Johnson; one sister, Grace Johnson Thigpen; and two brothers, Donnie Johnson and Ray Johnson.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Debbie Johnson of Lyons; two daughters, Olivia Ann Johnson of Longmont, Colorado and Mandy Johnson of Lyons; three sisters, Geraldine Johnson Mitchell and husband Dan of Vidalia, Evelyn Johnson Odom and husband James of Ashland, Alabama, and Linda Johnson Harvey and husband Wendell of the Blue Ridge Community; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 9th, at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Lyons with Pastor Tommy Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church of Tuesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
