Savannah,
Miss Linda “Lynn” Meeks, age 71, of Savannah, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, after an extended illness. She was a native of Chatham County, moved to Vidalia in 1954, was a 1964 graduate of Vidalia High School, and later returned to Savannah where she lived most of her life. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree, both in Speech Pathology from the University of Alabama. She began her career with Savannah Speech and Hearing, and retired from the Chatham County School System as a Speech Pathologist. She was a member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association, and was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Lila Mae Williamson Meeks.
Miss Meeks is survived by one brother, Sammie Meeks and wife Sue of Soperton; one sister, Patsy Meeks Durden and husband Larry A. of Metter; and six nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 10th at 9:30 a.m. in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jimmy Dupree officiating.
