Lillian (Findley) Powell

Lillian Findley Powell, age 91, entered the presence of the Lord early Wednesday morning, the 6th day of February 2019.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther P. Powell of Oak Park and her parents, William Lawson Findley and Fannie Bell Rountree Findley of Toombs County.  She is also preceded by eight older siblings and one younger half-brother.  She and her husband were loyal members and supporters of Pendleton Springs Baptist Church near Oak Park for several decades.  She was a homemaker and devoted her time to caring for her husband and raising their four sons.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her four sons Luther P. “Pete” Powell and wife Ginger of Sandersville, Georgia, Joe Lawson Powell and wife Marion of Knoxville, Tennessee, Walter Keith Powell and wife Diane of Kathleen, Georgia and Michael Quincy Powell and wife Debbie of Oak Park, five grandchildren, Stacey Powell Carnes, Kristen Kay Powell, Mikki Powell Knight, Joseph Jackson Powell and Katy Powell Thomas, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers are Keith Carnes, Bo Knight, Jack Powell, Taylor Thomas, Brian Bishop, Greg Powell, Jamie Bishop, and David Findley.

The funeral service will be held Friday, February 8th at 12:00 Noon in the Pendleton Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Walter Jarrell, Reverend H.G. Ridgdill and Reverend Donnie Hughes officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning from 10:30 until just prior to the service.
