Larry J. Knight

Mr. Larry J. Knight, age 70, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, died Sunday, September 23, 2018.  He was born July 28, 1948 to Allen Troy Knight and Essie Mae Wickstrom Knight, on a farm in northern Toombs County, and lived there until moving to Florida in 1958.  Larry had a large variety of jobs throughout his life.  His two favorite jobs were at Burger King from 1990 until 1999, and with the Western Hotel from 2003 until 2016.  He loved to watch ball games, especially the Miami Dolphins and the Atlanta Braves.  Larry enjoyed talking about the details of mistakes or great plays.  He was always cheerful and made everyone laugh.  He will always be missed.

Larry is survived by one sister, Evelyn Joyce Knight Phillips; two brothers, Jim L. Knight and Aaron Knight; four nieces, Joann Knight Jones, Christine Knight, Tina Knight Guzelf, Amy Knight Labruzza; two nephews, Curtis Knight and Clayton Wiley Phillips III; six great-nieces, Nicole Phillips Diez, Megan Phillips, Morgan Knight, Kaylee Cross, Courtney Guzelf, and Samantha Labruzza; and four great-nephews, Kyle Cross, Ryan Cross, Mathew Guzelf, and Anthony Labruzzo.

The funeral service will be held Friday, September 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the Mt. Shady Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Hutcheson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
