Vidalia,

Mrs. Juanita Garrett Braddy, age 89 of Vidalia, died Sunday, January 6, 2019, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, after a sudden illness.  She was a native of Toombs County and grew up in the New Branch Community.  She was a graduate of Lyons High School, and has lived in Montgomery County since 1963.  She worked at Darby Bank & Trust in Vidalia for many years, and was the oldest active member of the Smith Street Baptist Church.  Mrs. Braddy was part of the Smith Street Mission that was established in 1959 where she later became a charter member, and taught Sunday school for fifty years.  Throughout all those years, she and her late husband attended different churches together.  He was a member of the Old Line Primitive Baptist Church, but they were loyal to and loved by both congregations.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wyman Braddy; her parents, Jocey and Delma Garrett; and one brother, Gilbert Garrett. 

Mrs. Braddy is survived by one daughter, Myra Watson and husband Tim of Pelham, Alabama; one sister, Margaret McDonald of Vidalia; three brothers, Dean Garrett and wife Shirley of New Branch, Mack Garrett and wife Nelda of Lyons, and Cecil Garrett and wife Judy of New Branch; three grandchildren, Grey Watson of Brooklyn, New York, Bethan Watson of Pelham, and Marianna Davey and husband Ricky of Decatur, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Aubrey Braddy and wife Janet of the Kibbee Community; one sister-in-law, Lucille Watson of Mt. Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Glenn Waters officiating.  Burial will follow in the Braddy Cemetery in Kibbee. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 until just prior to the service.

Flower will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Smith Street Baptist Church, 503 Smith St., Vidalia GA 30474.
