Oak Park,
Mrs. Joan B. Hutcheson, age 82, of Oak Park, died Sunday, October 7, 2018, in Pineville, North Carolina, after a sudden illness. She was born in Soperton, living in Macon and Vidalia many years, and in Oak Park most of her life. She retired after twenty years from Sally D. Meadows Elementary School as the Cafeteria Manager, and currently was a Pink Lady at Meadows Regional Medical Center for twelve years. She was a Charter Member of the Vidalia Advent Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend L.J. Hutcheson; parents, N.T. Beasley and Eunice Brown Beasley Humphrey; and two brothers, Jimmy Beasley and Verlon Beasley.
Mrs. Hutcheson is survived by nine children, Cherry Hughes and husband Seab, Vickie Messex and husband Marvin, Bridgett Clifton and husband Rodney, all of Vidalia, Jay Hutcheson and wife Sharon of the South Thompson Community, Ted Hutcheson and wife JoAnn, Stacey Hutcheson and wife Sandra, Chad Hutcheson and wife Melissa, Clint Hutcheson and wife Candace, all of Oak Park, and Travis Hutcheson and wife Angela of Monroe, North Carolina; one sister, Frances Mann of Macon; one sister-in-law, Joanne Beasley of Vidalia; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the Vidalia Advent Christian Church with Reverend Clint Hutcheson and Reverend Travis Hutcheson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutcheson Cemetery in Treutlen County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
