Jim Watkins

Mr. Jim Watkins, age 55, of Lyons, died Friday, November 1, 2019, in Meadows Health in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Orlando, Florida, living in Fruitland, Florida most of his life before moving to Lyons in 2007.  He was owner/operator Chapel Christian Academy in Lyons, was former youth director at Victory Baptist Church in Lyons and is a member of New Life Baptist Church in Metter.  Jim enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Ann Blackal Dunn.

Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife, Leah Watkins of Lyons; six children, Robert Watkins and wife Lindsey, Melissa Chinn and husband Trey, Josh Lopez, Scott Watkins, all of Florida, Zoe Lopez and husband Adrian, and Regan Watkins, all of Lyons; one brother, Jeff Roberts of Lyons and Chrissy Prater and husband Ken of Florida; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 9th, at 3:00 p.m. in the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons.
