Jim Gaultney

Mr. Jim Gaultney, age 69, of Lyons, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at his home, after a sudden illness.  He was a native of Atlanta and moved to Statesboro as a child.  He was a 1967 graduate of Statesboro High School, where he was Drum Major his junior and senior year, and he attended Brewton-Parker College.  Jim was a hair stylist for forty years and was the former owner of Jim and Company in Vidalia.  He and his wife were the owner/operators of Natsu Japanese Restaurant in Lyons for six years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia.  Jim was passionate about the scriptures and learning and interpreting the Hebrew language.  He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Gaultney; and his parents, Jimmy Louie Gaultney, Sr. and Patricia Dillard Gaultney. 

Jim is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Vickie Thompson Gaultney of Lyons; one daughter, Jennifer Hughes Graham and husband Gray of Vidalia; one brother, Joseph Gaultney and wife Karen of Kansas; four grandchildren, Summer Hughes Daughtry and husband Jon of Dublin, Hall Thompson Graham of Vidalia, Gracie Hughes of Cumming, and Hughes Harrison Graham of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Dennis Banks and Reverend Don Moye officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until just prior to the service.
