Lyons,
Mr. J.C. Brantley, age 73, of Lyons, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, after a brief illness. He was a native of Cedar Crossing and lived most of his life in Vidalia before moving to Lyons three years ago. He was the former owner of Main Street Grocery in Vidalia for thirty-five years and was presently the owner of Jiffy Jigs in Vidalia. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as an usher and worked with the children’s church ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Bennie Paul Brantley and one sister, Gladys Brantley.
Mr. Brantley is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Belinda Clements Brantley of Lyons; two sons, Paul “Gopher” Brantley and wife Margret of Uvalda, and Jimmy Brantley and wife Jamie of Higgston; four grandchildren, Madison Beasley and husband Matthew of Cedar Crossing, Chris Brantley and wife Danielle of Uvalda, Justin Brantley, and Bryan Brantley both of Higgston; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Brantley and Jackson Beasley; two nieces; and numerous cousins.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 14th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Zorn and Pastor Cody Zorn officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Crossing Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
