Humberto "Robert" Marin

Mr. Humberto “Robert” Marin, age 49, of Cedar Crossing, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018, in Meadows Health in Vidalia, after a sudden illness.  He was a native of Mexico, grew up in Florida and Michigan, and has lived in Toombs County since 1985.  Robert was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, serving in the U.S. Army, and retired in 2014 as a Trooper with Georgia State Patrol.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was preceded in death by a brother, Carmelo Marin; and a brother-in-law, Benito Bustos, Jr.

Mr. Marin is survived by his wife, Pamela Marin; four children, Austin Marin, both of Cedar Crossing, Eric Pruitt and wife Shelly, Tracy Pruitt, all of Lyons, and Jennifer Collier and husband Dennis of Glennville; his mother, Teodora Marin of the South Thompson Community; five sisters, Filomena Bustos of South Thompson, Angelina Bustos and husband Oscar of Vidalia, Trinidad Garcia and husband Crescencio of Higgston, Rosa Perales and husband Jose of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Maria Senn and husband Jonathan of Dublin; one brother, Ramon Marin and wife Angeles of Texas; eleven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ben Dallas officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 with a vigil to follow at 7:00.
