Mr. Hollis D. Foskey, age 88, of Uvalda, died Saturday, December 21, 2019, in Bolingreen Health and Rehabilitation in Macon, after a brief illness. He was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Uvalda most of his life. He retired after thirty-five years from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Charlotte United Methodist Church; he enjoyed fishing and was affectionately known as the “can man”. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Foskey; parents, Rufus Foskey and Clyde Adams Foskey; one sister, Elise Davis; and two brothers, Paul Foskey and Kendall Foskey.
Mr. Foskey is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Carmie Humphrey Foskey; two children, Teresa Foskey Poole and husband Dale of the Charlotte Community, and Rickey H. Foskey and wife Stephanie of Macon; one brother, Hugh Foskey and wife Johnnie of Uvalda; two sisters, Janelle Foskey Williams of Marietta, and Reba Foskey Yawn and husband Royce of Groveland, Florida; three grandchildren, Kelvin Sanders of Uvalda, Tessa Sanders of the Charlotte Community and Suzanna Foskey of Macon; one great-granddaughter, Courtney Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, December 23rd, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Adrian Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Uvalda City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
