Mrs. Hilda Tarver McBride, age 83, of Vidalia, died Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Vidalia most of her life. She worked as office manager for Southern Pipe and Supply in Vidalia for thirty-eight years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia. She enjoyed playing golf and was an avid supporter of Vidalia Indian Athletics and was past President of the Booster Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Travis McBride in 2017 and her parents, Cyril O. Tarver and Bernell Harrell Tarver
Mrs. McBride is survived by three children, Jason McBride and wife Nita of Vidalia, Angie McBride Mosley and husband Artie of Tifton, and Brett Tarver and wife Susan of Vidalia; two sisters, Ann Tarver White and husband Wilton of Gainesville, and Lajuan Tarver Thompson Flowers and husband Carson of Jesup; six grandchildren, Chris Burkett, Derek Mosley, Nicolas McBride, Nathan McBride, Kyle Tarver and Dustin Tarver, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a devoted friend Ruby Terrell of Higgston.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 15th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Bucky Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
