Helen (Denmark) Williams

Mrs. Helen Denmark Williams, age 79, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County and lived there and Toombs County all of her life.  She was born January 5, 1939 to the late James Michael Denmark and Rosa Lee Smith Denmark.  She worked at several garment manufacturing factories and was a substitute school teacher for many years with the Toombs County School System.  She was a member of the Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Parmer Williams; two sons, Wayne Calvin Williams and an infant son; one sister, Nelly Jack Denmark; and two brothers, James “Bud” Denmark and Charles Denmark.

Mrs. Denmark is survived one daughter, Diane Williams of Johnson Corner; two sons, Carl Williams and wife Donna Register Williams of Reidsville, and Johnny Williams and wife Fran Whonic Williams of Rome; five grandchildren, Travis, Zane and Nora of Rome, Hunter McCumber of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Harley McCumber of Reidsville; three brothers, Michael “JR” Denmark and wife Annette Denmark of the Gray’s Landing Community, Larry Denmark and wife Shirley Denmark, and Preston Denmark and wife Linda Denmark, all of Lyons; one brother-in-law, Twiggs Williams and wife Nellie Williams of Johnson Corner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Jarrell Lillard officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
