Vidalia,
Mrs. Helen Wood Lynn, age 94, of Vidalia, died Monday, July 29, 2019, in The Oaks-Bethany in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County and was a 1943 graduate of Brewton-Parker High School in Mt. Vernon. She and her late husband moved to Toombs County in 1947 and, she retired as a seamstress from Oxford Industries after forty-four years. She worked at Wendy’s in Vidalia for thirteen years, was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Lynn; parents, Dick Wood and Florence Hughes Wood; three sisters, Dean Young, Wyolene Williamson and Margaret Sharpe; and one brother, Dewitt Wood.
Mrs. Lynn is survived by two children, Susan Lynn Stephens and husband Ronald of Vidalia, and Steve Lynn and wife Teresa of Duluth; one brother-in-law, Donald Sharpe of Savannah; three grandchildren, Denise Stephens of Vidalia, Stephanie Wargo of Suwanee, and Christy Stephens of Hebron, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Maribeth Stephens and Piper Wargo; several nieces, nephews and caregivers, Peggy Hardiman, Cathy Stephens, Diane Collins, Shawna Williamson, Edith Williamson, Barbara Hembree, Janice Price, Debbie Middleton, Janice Fountain, Nikita Crawford, Cassandra Smith, Cheryl Walker, Faye Barnes, Shanna Johnson, Peggy McGowan and Kelly White.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 31st, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Holley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
