Harold Dean Vaughn

Mr. Harold Dean Vaughn, age 85, of Oak Park, died Thursday, July 4, 2019, in The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Emanuel County, living there and Toombs County all of his life and was a 1953 graduate of Oak Park High School.  Harold started his career with Piggy Wiggly Southern in 1954 and retired in 1996 after forty-two years as Warehouse Manager.  He was a longtime member and Deacon of Olney Primitive Baptist Church in Oak Park.  He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Earline C. Vaughn; his parents, Theron Vaughn and Vera Logan Vaughn; two brothers, Leroy Vaughn and Cannie Vaughn; and a,granddaughter, Julia Jones.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by six children, Sabrina Calhoun of Vidalia, Cindy Jones and husband Robert of the Johnson Corner Community, Tim Vaughn and wife Kathy of Macon, Mark Vaughn and wife Sonya, Lisa Williamson and husband Greg, and Russ Vaughn and wife Tammye, all of Vidalia; three sisters, Carol Sharpe and husband Buddy of Lyons, Margaret Burton of Lyons, and Wanda Bellflower of Vidalia; one brother, Kenneth Vaughn and wife Belinda of Vidalia; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 6th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olney Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Bill Durrence officiating.  Burial will follow in the Oak Park City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Olney Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday from Noon until just prior to the service.
