Gloria Jean "Anne" Wolfe

Mrs. Gloria Jean “Anne” Wolfe, age 94, of Vidalia, died on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, in Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was born in Hastings, Florida, moved to Uvalda in the 1940’s and has lived in Vidalia since 1959.  She was a professional dancer in New York City in the early 1940’s and she, her late husband and family were owners of Wolfe Piano Company in Vidalia.  She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia and the JOY Fellowship Class.  She went on numerous mission trips and led line senior dancing class at the church called the Pace Makers where the group ministered at nursing homes.  Her life revolved around her family; and she enjoyed music and fishing.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Walstein Wolfe; a son, Freddy Wolfe; and parents, Leon George Zabawa and Margaret Mae Byrd Zabawa.    

Mrs. Wolfe is survived by three daughters, Carole Wolfe Clifton and husband Caroll of Savannah, Joyce Wolfe Walden and husband James, and Dianne Wolfe Jackson, all of Vidalia; one son, Victor Wolfe of Lyons; one daughter-in-law, Paula Wolfe of Uvalda; thirteen grandchildren, Dr. Rhonda Bedell, Andrea Lanier, Andy Walden, Chris Walden and wife Julie, Robyn Vickers and husband Dan, Neal Wolfe and wife Jennifer, Shai Hobbs and husband Jody, Dr. Misty Poole and husband Casey, Joseph Wolfe, Sarah Wolfe, Andrew Wolfe and wife Mary Beth, John Victor Wolfe, Margaret Wolfe and Benjamin Wolfe; eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia with Reverend David Blalock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00.
