Mr. George Warren Brinson, age 83 of Cedar Crossing, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017, in Commonwealth Senior Living, in Richmond, Virginia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Tattnall County and lived in Toombs County most of his life.  He retired after forty years as a millwright at Union Camp in Savannah and was a U.S. Army veteran.  He was a Deacon for more than forty years and was a member of the South Thompson Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willene Williams Brinson; daughter, Tammy Marie Brinson Fountain; two sons, George Brinson and John Brinson; brother, Larry Brinson; sister, Valera Brinson; and a great-granddaughter, LilyAnna Joy.

Mr. Brinson is survived by his wife, Nan Galbreath Brinson of the Center Community; one daughter, Faith S. Freyermuth and husband Johnnie of Fairmount; one son, Stephen Brinson and wife Katie of South Chesterfield, Virginia; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Brinson Harrelson of Lyons; one son-in-law, David Fountain of Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren, George Warren III, J.D., Julia Lei, Isabella Willene, Joel, Daniel, and Joshua; two great-grandchildren, Jo Jo and Paisley; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 5th at 3:00 p.m. in the South Thompson Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Cobb, Reverend B.L. Horne and Reverend Greg Riner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sharpe Cemetery near Alston.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Thompson Baptist Church, 225 South Thompson Road, Vidalia GA 30474.
