Geneva "Jimmie" Powell (Partin) Fiveash

Mrs. Geneva “Jimmie” Partin Powell Fiveash, age 87, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was born April 3, 1931 in the Cedar Crossing Community, and moved to the Johnson Corner Community at an early age, where she lived most of her life.  She lived in Macon for twenty years before returning home to Johnson Corner two years ago.  She worked at Oxford Industries for many years.  After leaving Oxford, she helped her first husband in the family fertilize and produce business.  She was a member of the Edmond Chapel Church of God in Johnson Corner, where she helped teach Sunday school.  She was preceded in death by her first husband of thirty-five years, A.L. “Tot” Powell and her second husband of twenty years, Wilbur J. Fiveash; two sons, Larry Powell and Don Powell; one grandson, Jason Powell; one son-in-law, Charles Brinson; parents, Grady and Sally NeeSmith Partin; five brothers, Fred, Lester, Earnest, Herbert, and Earl Partin; three sisters and their husbands, Eula and Payne Denmark, Inez and Dick Morris, and Viola and Edwin Fiveash.

Mrs. Fiveash is survived by one daughter, Alicia Brinson of Johnson Corner, one daughter-in-law, Lynette Powell of Lyons; six grandchildren, Bruce Powell, Kelvin Powell and wife Zelda, and Leigh Bradford, all of Johnson Corner, Trey Grimm of Waynesboro, Teresa Morrison and husband Robert of Lyons, and Les Grimm and wife Robin of Baxley; eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Ruby Nell Morris of Glenwood; one sister-in-law, Meredith Partin of Johnson Corner; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Randy and Dot Grimm and Betty Poole.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Mr. Roger NeeSmith and Reverend Bill Black officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
