Mr. Forrest McIntosh, age 94, a resident of Prattville, Alabama, died peacefully at his home, on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Mr. McIntosh was born June 6, 1924 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served honorably during World War II. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, who devoted his life to the loving care of his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Synthia Louise McIntosh; parents, Kenneth DeForrest and Ruby Royce McIntosh; and a sister, Gloria Favor.
Mr. McIntosh is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Connie McIntosh; one daughter, Ginger M. Strickland; one brother-in-law, Norman Favor; two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The family gives their heartfelt thanks and love to his caregivers, Cynthia Jackson, Dianne Jackson, Dorothy Reese, Debra Humphrey, Alma Blair, and Jonnie Anthony, as well as numerous others who served in the past.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 and on Friday morning from 11:00 until.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Oak Park with Reverend Walter Jarrell officiating.
