Vidalia,
Evelyn Williams Woods, 92, died February 26, 2019, following a brief illness. She was a native of Cobbtown and was a 1945 graduate of Collins High School. In 1946, she married her late husband, who served in the U.S. Army. Various times during her husband's service, she lived in Cobbtown, and has made Vidalia her home since 1976. She was a homemaker, and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Busy Bees Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold "Bo" Woods; her parents, Trellis and Alma Sikes Williams; brothers, Woodrow Williams, Jeff Williams, and Wilson Williams; sisters, Elizabeth Williams Browne Swope, and Francis Williams McDonaldson.
Mrs. Woods is survived by one son, William Kenneth Woods and wife Carol Kelly-Woods of McDonough; two granddaughters, Christie Woods Edwards and John Edwards of Milledgeville, and Elizabeth Woods Perry and Michael Perry of Wilmington Island; one grandson, Peter Kelly of Atlanta; two great-grandsons, James William Edwards of Milledgeville, and Ethan Michael Perry of Wilmington Island; numerous nieces and nephews; several special family and friends who called her their "second mom".
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the Connors Baptist Church Cemetery near Cobbtown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
