Mrs. Eva Jane McDaniel Harden, age 75, of Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, after a brief illness. She was a native of Wheeler County and lived there and Montgomery County most of her life. She worked as a cook for many years, including Brewton-Parker College. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of God and was preceded in death by two husbands, Bill Lyle and Eddie Powell; parents, George W. McDaniel and Estell Williams McDaniel; and two brothers, Willie B. McDaniel and Robert McDaniel.
Mrs. Harden is survived by three children, James M. Lyle and wife Cindy of Mt. Vernon, Martha L. Stewart and John Sanders of Lyons, and Susie Lyle and Richie Chumley of Uvalda; one brother, Herman McDaniel of Higgston; three sisters, Janice McDaniel Harper and husband Tony of Tarrytown, Diane McDaniel Watson of the Kibbee Community, and Tiny McDaniel Tharpe and Chris Roach of Florida; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 6th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wheeler County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
