Ephriam Sanders

Mr. Eddie Ephriam Sanders, age 91, of Long Pond, died Monday, January 22, 2018, from injuries received in an automobile accident on December 29, 2017. He was a native of Montgomery County, and lived most of his life in Long Pond.  He was an employee of the Georgia and Florida Railroad, and Georgia Department of Transportation supervisor in Uvalda and Mt. Vernon for thirty-four years, until he retired in 1992.  He was an active member of the Long Pond Baptist Church, where he was Chairman of Deacons, member of the Long Pond Trust Fund and bell ringer for many years.  He was preceded in death by the love of his life for nearly seventy years, Drucilla Goff Sanders; parents, Gladys Pollette Sanders and Simp Sanders; and one brother, Billy Sanders.

Mr. Sanders is survived by four children, Lynn Manning and husband Emmitt, Doye Sanders and wife Patricia, Steve Sanders and wife Velda, and Francis “Wormy” Sanders, all of Long Pond; one brother, Sammy Sanders and wife Betty of Uvalda; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Siman and Reverend Arnie Raj officiating.  Burial will follow in McAllister Family Cemetery near Long Pond.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 until just prior to the service.
