Lyons,
Elaine Braddy Morris Williams, age 71, of the New Branch Community, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019, in Navicent Health in Macon, after a sudden illness. She was a native of Toombs County, and lived in New Branch and Vidalia all of her life. She worked as quality control supervisor at Oxford Industries for many years, and was a member of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Taft Braddy and Ruby Drake Braddy.
Elaine is survived by three children, Deborah Morris Stewart and husband Dr. Shannon Stewart of Savannah; Jeff Morris and wife Jeannie Morris of Vidalia, and John Morris and wife Ashley Morris of Hazlehurst; six grandchildren, Tanner Youmans, Eric Dahl, Johnny Morris, Gracie Morris, Jessie Morris, and Jadyn Morris; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Morris and Charlie Morris; four sisters, Annette Mobley of New Branch, Peggy Higginbotham and husband James of Jacksonville, Florida, Marjorie Williamson and husband Winton of the Five Points Community, and Carol Funderburke of Lyons; four brothers, W.T. Braddy and Doris of Thomson, Gene Braddy and wife Marjorie of Alston, Charles Braddy and wife Merita of New Branch, and Tommy Braddy and wife Gwen of Lyons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Odom Cemetery near Lyons.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
