Edwynn McDaniel

Mr. Edwynn McDaniel, age 81, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, after a sudden illness.  He was a native of Wheeler County, was a 1958 graduate of Glenwood High School, and attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton.  Edwynn served four years in the U.S. Army.  He worked in road construction most of his life; starting his career with the Georgia Department of Transportation, for many years with Holland and Reeves Construction, and retired with McLendon Enterprises.  He was a member of the Grace Community Presbyterian Church in Lyons where he served as an Elder.  Edwynn was a former member of the Vidalia Presbyterian where he served as an Elder among several other leadership roles within the church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Dixon McDaniel; and his parents, Joseph Norman McDaniel and Iva Wynn McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by two children, Gwynn Colvin and husband Tommy of Vidalia, and Joe McDaniel and wife Carol of Cartersville;  three grandchildren, Kyle Denton, Taylor McDaniel, both of Cartersville, and Deidre Achenbach of Vidalia, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Norma McDaniel of Atlanta.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
