Lyons,
Dorothy “Dot” Lynn, age 77, of Lyons, gained her angel wings on October 5, 2018. At Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a period of declining health. She is in the arms of Jesus and will suffer no more! She was born on December 29, 1940, and was a graduate of Oak Park High School. She married M.J. “Shorty” Cannady in 1960 and lived in Oak Park. She later married Dennis “Coon” Lynn on August 25, 1990 and lived in Lyons. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for many years and later moved her membership to the Lyons First Baptist Church. She enjoyed and showed her love by cooking for her family, friends, church, and community. Cooking was the gift from God. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evadell Collins Monroe Wrenn; father, James Manning Monroe; husband, Dennis “Coon” Lynn; son, Ron Cannady; great grandson, Alston Page; sister, Marilyn Slater; brothers, Dilburn Monroe and Olin Monroe; step-son, Bobby Lynn.
Dot is survived by daughter, Renae Cannady; son, Tyrone Craige Cannady; sister, Barbara Lloyd Andrews (David); 8 grandchildren, Jordan Alexander(Ashley), Tiffany Alexander George (Craig), Brant Mauras, Nicole Cannady Page (Alex), Danielle Cannady (Jared), Tyler Cannady, Harlee Cannady, Caleb Cannady; 7 great-grandchildren, Makenzie Alexander, Greylin & Raegan George, Tristin & Weston Page, Annalise & Kaylee Page; step children, Ronnie Lynn (Judy), Dale Lynn, Brenda Gudsan (Richard), Danny Lynn; 17 step grandchildren, Kendra Fitzgerald (Brian) & Dequera Hardman (Derrick), Stephanie Williams (Trent) & Brandy Taylor (Chad), Richie Gudsan (Mallory), Hallie Gudsan, Zack Gudsan, Nick Gudsan, Isreal & Christopher Lynn, Ashley Howard (Brian), Landon Lynn, Casey Lott (Mark), Callie Lynn, Ethan Lynn, Evan Lynn; and 18 great-grandchildren, Shane Fitzgerald, Bricyn Fitzgerald, Rilyn Fitzgerald, Jackson Newton, Ella Newton, Cooper Hardman, Chase Williams, Analise Williams, Leighton Williams, Avery Taylor, Addison Taylor, Ellie Gudsan, Isaac Gudsan, Troy Gudsan, AydenLott, Brylee Lott, Knylee Lott, and Milly Lott.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Chad Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
