Dora Belle (Anderson) Williamson

Mrs. Dora Belle Anderson Williamson, age 75, of Vidalia, died Monday, May 13, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Valdosta, after an extended illness.  She was a native of the Ohoopee Community and was a 1962 graduate of Lyons High School.  She lived in Lyons until moving to Vidalia in 2000, was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Collins.  She enjoyed talking on the phone and social media.  Belle loved all animals and was involved with several rescue groups in which she did media outreach.  She was truly a giving person who helped so many.  It didn’t matter to her where you had been, what you had done, or what kind of life you had led; she believed in loving you right where you were at, right at that moment.  She believed in restoration.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Williamson; parents, John C. Anderson, Sr. and Edna Cooper Anderson; two sisters, Pearl Underwood and Nell Cummins; and four brothers, Fred Anderson, Wilbert Anderson, Johnny Anderson and Charlie Anderson.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by her daughter, Michelle Williamson Burton and husband Dan of Valdosta; one sister, Emma Jean King and husband Hershel of Kennesaw; three brothers, Earl Cooper of Cartersville, Tommy Cooper of St. George, Utah, and Kenneth Anderson and wife Stella of Enterprise, Alabama; several nieces and nephews, two fur babies, Foxy and Murphy; and two fur babies grand-dogs, Rusty and Buster.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 16th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Reland Morgan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00.
