Mrs. Diane Lockley Pennington, age 73, of Vidalia, died Saturday, August 12, 2017, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and moved to Toombs County in 1946.  She was a 1961 graduate of Toombs Central High School, and a 1962 graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton.  She was Vice President of Vidalia Federal Savings and retired after forty years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Pennington in 2016; and parents, J.W. Lockley and Flora Belle George Lockley.

Mrs. Pennington is survived by one daughter, Alice Diane Wyrick of Melbourne, Florida; three grandchildren, Kyle Wyrick, Conner Wyrick, both of Norfolk, Virginia, and Cassie Wyrick of Melbourne; two sisters, Sylvia Dennis and husband Fred of the English Eddy Community, and Gail Leith of Lyons; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Drinkwater and husband Norman of Orlando, Florida, Nancy Pennington of Homosassa, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 15th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Ferrell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
