Lyons,
Mr. Dennis “Charlie” Copeland, age 56, of Lyons, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Waycross and has lived in Toombs County most of his life. He was a heavy equipment mechanic with T&M Trucking in Higgston and more recently with Laranda Farms. He worked two years with his uncle and cousin at Copeland Automotive in the Center Community. Charlie Enjoyed fishing, and was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Copeland; and a brother, Darrell Copeland.
Charlie is survived by his father, Thomas M. Copeland; a sister-in-law, Monette Copeland; a devoted friend, Ann Medders; all of Lyons; two uncles, Paul Copeland and wife Miriam of Center, and Herb Gassette and wife Phyllis of Florida; two aunts, June Wilson and husband Frankie of Tifton, and Dorothy Brensinger and husband Larry of Holly Hills, Florida; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 19th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor B.L. Horne and Reverend Richard Barnard officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
