Dean (O'Neal) Anderson

Mrs. Willa Dean O’Neal Anderson, age 77, of the English Eddy Community, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, and lived in Savannah and English Eddy most of her life.  She retired as Executive Secretary for Savannah Foods.  Dean was a member of the Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, and served as Treasurer of the United Methodist Women.  She also served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Hardens Chapel Cemetery Committee.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Hazel Alexander O’Neal; a son, Daniel Anderson; a brother, Franklin O’Neal; and sister, Opal O’Neal.

Dean is survived by her husband, Gilbert Y. Anderson of English Eddy; one son, Allen Anderson and wife Linda of Blackshear; one daughter-in-law, Linda Williams Anderson, Middleburg, Florida; one sister, Audrey Crump and husband Ronnie of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, September 21st at 3:00 p.m. in the Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Jarrell Lillard, Reverend Bill Lee, and Reverend Carroll Gay officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
