Ailey,
Mr. David Winge, age 54, of Ailey, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Higgston. He was born in Atlanta and lived in Macon and Columbus before moving to Vidalia in 1972. David was a 1982 graduate of Vidalia Comprehensive High School and moved to Ailey in 1988. He was service manager at Webster Motor Company in Higgston and had worked there thirty-nine years. David was a member and Deacon of Ailey Baptist Church. He enjoyed horses, trap shooting, cooking and listening to Garth Brooks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patti Williamson Winge and his father, Johnny Franklin Winge, Sr.
David is survived by one daughter, Monti Winge of Mt. Vernon; his mother, Sharron Collins Winge of Vidalia, one brother, Johnny Winge, Jr. and wife Nan of Alston; one sister, Sonya Winge Vaughn and husband Mark of Vidalia; his former wife, Melissa Palmer of Mt. Vernon; one niece, Natalie Sheppard and husband Wes of Vidalia; one great-nephew, Weston Sheppard; two aunts, two uncles and his fur babies, Josie and Grace Ann.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Thompson and Dr. Paul May officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00.
