Mr. Danny Ray “Bubby” Smith, Jr., age 41, of Lyons, died Friday, September 22, 2017 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was a native of Florida and moved to Toombs County in 1990. He worked in construction as a contractor, was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved kids, and playing guitar. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Smith Sr. and one brother, James Dewey Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his grandmother, Dollie Snipes of Laurel Hill, Florida; sister, Notashia Stevens of Moore, Oklahoma; mother, Shelia Walker and husband Ronnie of Dothan, Alabama; three uncles, Steve Smith of Lyons, Josh Smith of Florida, and Matt Smith of Lake City, Florida; brother, Caleb T. Walker of Dothan, Alabama; sister, Kelly Huerta of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and numerous cousins.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Heath Wingard officiating. Burial will follow in Uvalda City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
