Daniel Fred Matthews

Mr. Daniel Fred “Danny” Matthews, age 73, of the McNatt Falls Community, died Wednesday, August 28, 2019.  He was a native of Laurens County, living in Apopka, Florida and Macon for many years, before moving to Toombs County in 1972.  He worked at Louisiana Pacific in Hazlehurst and was a member of Bethel – The Church of God in Cedar Crossing.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William Austin Matthews and Evelyn Nadine Scarborough Matthews.

Danny is survived by two sisters, Jean Chambers and husband Buddy of McNatt Falls, and Mary Simpson of Savannah; one brother, Benny R. Matthews of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 1st, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
