Mr. Daniel Ira Kersey, age 45, of Eastman, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Montgomery County as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native of Vidalia and lived most of his life in Lyons before moving to Eastman in 2009. He was a member of Rhine Baptist Church and worked in floor covering for Mike Cossett. He loved fishing, spending time with his family, and was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Hutcheson Kersey.

Mr. Kersey is survived by his wife, Amber Smith Kersey of Eastman; nine children, Jayda Kersey and Justin Kersey of Dade City, Florida, Gabriel Kersey and fiancé Bailey of Lyons, Jacob Kersey, Skylee Kersey, Betty Kersey, Chase Kersey, Ava Kersey, and GemmaGrace Kersey all of Eastman; father, Benton Kersey, Jr. and wife Martha of Reidsville, two sisters, Lavada Booth Kersey of Toombs County and Victoria Turner of Reidsville; one brother, Brian Kersey and wife Melinda; one grandson, Caiden Kersey of Lyons; two step-brothers, Jeremy Shane White and wife Michelle of Soperton, and Daniel White and wife Brandy of Collins; one aunt, Mildred Kersey of Glenwood; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
