Mrs. Daisy Darden Beasley, age 77, of Reidsville, died Monday, July 30, 2018, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County, living in Toombs County and Oak Park most of her life, and in Reidsville for the past three years.  She worked at Oxford Industries for several years, at Oak Park School in the lunchroom, and was a school bus driver for the Emanuel County School System.  Also, she worked as food service manager for the Georgia Department of Corrections in Reidsville.  She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, and was a former charter member of United Fellowship Baptist Church in Oak Park.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Darden, Sr. and Geneva Curl Darden; two sisters, Jean Smith and Rosie Powell; and two brothers, Johnny Darden, Jr. and Jim Darden.

Mrs. Beasley is survived by two children, Jan Durrence and husband David of Reidsville, and Fredrick Toole of Athens; two sisters, Evelyn Herring and husband Richard, and Christine Cone, all of Lyons; two brothers, Jackie Darden and wife Miriam of Vidalia, and Billie Darden and wife Marilyn of Lyons; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. in the Oak Park City Cemetery with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
