Vidalia,
Ms. Cleo G. Davis, age 84, of the South Thompson Community, died Thursday, March 14, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Jeff Davis County, later moved to the Springhill Community in Wheeler County and was a 1954 graduate of Wheeler County High School. She lived in the Long Pond Community and Mt. Vernon for several years, and has lived in Toombs County since 1992. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church. In her younger years, she painted and loved animals. She was preceded in death by a son, LeWayne “Pebo” Davis; and parents, Owen Joyce and Gussie Griffis Joyce.
Ms. Davis is survived by two children, Joyce Davis Carver of South Thompson, and Irving Davis and wife Kimberly of McMinnville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Sherry Lynn Miller and husband David of Vidalia, Wayne Randall Davis and wife Resa of Hahira, Linda Carver and fiancé William Bowman, Nicole Davis Corbett and husband Ray of Vidalia, Jenna Davis of Lumber City, and Aleah Davis of McMinnville; eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and a great-great-granddaughter to be born in July.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend B.L. Horne officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
