Charles Jerry Bishop

Mr. Charles Jerry Bishop, age 77, of Higgston, died Wednesday, November 13, 2019, in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Emanuel County and attended Swainsboro High School.  He served twelve years in the U.S. Air Force and two years in the Air National Guard.  He founded J&S Printing in Wrightsville and worked with Claxton Printing for several years.  He was a member of the Episcopal Church of The Good Shepherd in Swainsboro.  He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, and locally was known as the “Woodman”.  He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Bishop; parents, Harley Bishop and Lillian Munns Bishop; and a brother, Paul Bishop.

Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife, Sue Allen Fowler Bishop; two children, Joanne Fishback Gillis and James D. Fowler, all of Higgston; three sisters, Joanne Boulineau of Swainsboro, Bunnie Bishop of Atlanta, and Linda Dean Bishop of Brunswick; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be family memorial service at a later date.
