Lyons,
Mrs. Carolyn Wiggins “Mema” Demolfetto, age 73, of Lyons, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at her home, after an extended illness. She was a native of Lyons, and Valedictorian of her graduating class at Oak Park High School. She lived in Miramar, Florida for eighteen years, and returned home in 1981. She was a homemaker, dedicated her life to her family, and had a special place in her heart, for not only her children and grandchildren, but others as well. She was a member of the Lyons Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, and was active in the nursing home ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Demolfetto in 1983; parents, Leon McKinley Wiggins and Lanie Brinson Joiner; one brother, Gene Wiggins; and three sisters, Jo Ann Wiggins, Merkie Lee Wilkes, and Faye Gibbs.
Mrs. Demolfetto is survived by four daughters, Donna Demolfetto Burton and husband Tony of Vidalia, Marie Demolfetto and Vickey Baxter of Lyons, Lanie Demolfetto Welch and husband John of Lyons, and Kelly Panick of Oak Park; one sister, Etherine Wiggins Lollis of Lyons; one brother, Ronnie Wiggins of Lyons; twelve grandchildren, Caleb Burton, Caylie Burton, Ashlyn Welch, Ethan Welch, Joshua Welch, Brayden Welch, Cameron Panick, Mason Welch, Elijah Baxter, Michael Bolyard, Brandon Bryant, and Brittany Bellflower; one great-grandchild, Asher Welch; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, May 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Wiggins and Pastor Rick Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00.
