Mrs. Carol Kirby Bryan, age 78, of Oak Park, died Saturday, August 24, 2019, at her home, after a sudden illness. She was a native of Oak Park and was a graduate of Oak Park High School. She lived in Nashville, Georgia most of her life and was Quality Control Manager for Nashville Textile for many years. She returned to Oak Park in 2011 and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. In her early years, she was a singer and entertainer at numerous local venues in south Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram “Dick” Kirby and Leona Lott Kirby; a sister, Louise Kirby Beecher and husband Robert.
Mrs. Bryan is survived by two daughters, Petina “Tina” Powell Parlier and husband Harry of Union, South Carolina, and Teresa Ann Albanese and husband Anthony of Florida; two sisters, Patsy Kirby Fowler of Orlando, Florida, and Connie Kirby Phillips and husband Jerone of Oak Park; one brother, Jimmy Kirby and wife Sandy of Oak Park; five grandchildren, including Jennifer Harvey Garrett and husband Jerry, Joseph H. Harvey IV, and Devin Knowlton Farr and husband Andy; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 28th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirby Family Cemetery in Oak Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
