Mr. Bobby R. Riner, age 86, of Vidalia, died Monday, January 8, 2018, at his home, after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, and was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Korean War.  He retired as supervisor from Georgia Power after thirty-four years, attended The Chapel at Santa Claus, and was a talented syrup maker.  He was preceded in death by two wives, Betty Conaway Riner and Peggy Riner; parents, Jonah Lee Riner, Sr. and Sapola Brinson Riner; and seven brothers and sisters.

Mr. Riner is survived by three children, Marcia Riner Copeland and husband Gene, Jonah Riner and wife Wanda, and Greg Riner, one grandson, Robert Hamilton Riner, all of Vidalia; one brother, Billy Riner and wife Linda of Lyons; one sister, Juanita Halligan of Savannah; one sister-in-law, Betty Meeks Riner of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 11th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with George Powell and Luis Gonzalez officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
