Memories of a Lifetime of Love
Mrs. Betty Sue Groover Gray, age 90, of Lyons, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Community Hospice House, in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was born in Bulloch County, grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and graduated from high school there. Betty met her late husband and moved to Lyons in 1948. She worked at Belk in Vidalia and was the former manager of Mandalay Motel in Lyons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.T. Gray; parents, Charlie and Suzie Coleman Groover.
Mrs. Gray is survived by three sons, Dan L. Gray and wife Cindy of Oak Park, Charles T. Gray and wife Vickie of Jacksonville, Florida, James K. “Jimmy” Gray and wife MaryAnn of Johnson Corner; ten grandchildren, Brande Gray, Ryan Gray, Lee Gray, Natalie Gray, Billy Wright, Lacey Wright, Eric Gray, Jamie Gray, Mandy Gray, and Matthew Howell; nineteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
