Betty (Meeks) Riner

Mrs. Betty Meeks Riner, age 89, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, after a brief illness.  She was a native of the Normantown Community and lived in Vidalia most of her life.  She was office manager for Duncan Graham, Attorney for seventy-two years.  She was a member of the Vidalia Primitive Baptist Church of Vidalia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. “Jake” Riner, Jr.; parents, Theodore “Theo” Meeks and Valeria Dorsey Meeks; one sister, Ellen Culpepper; and one brother, Hugh Meeks.

Mrs. Riner is survived by one sister, Hazel Wynn of Lyons; one brother, Terry D. Meeks of Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, September 27th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Vidalia Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mike Gray officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
