Vidalia,
Mrs. Betty Bell, age 83, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was born in Verona, Mississippi, and as a child moved to Mt. Vernon. She was a 1953 graduate of Montgomery County High School, lived in Vidalia most of her life, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Talmadge Bell; parents, Audie Lee West and Lennie Strickland West; three sisters, Peggy Guinn, Hazel Finch, and Bonnie Rogers; and a son-in-law, Frank Humphreys.
Mrs. Bell is survived by three daughters, Beverly Humphreys of Blue Mountain, Mississippi, June Lockwood and husband Jack of Cedar Crossing, and Barbara Woods and husband Terry of Vidalia; two brothers, Audie West and wife Joyce, and Wendell West, all of Mt. Vernon; six grandsons, Jamie Miller, Donnie Miller, Morgan Breeden, Jason Holmes, Bobby Breeden, and Jesse Bell; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Karl Hay officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
