Vidalia,
Ms. Avis Juanell Humphrey McDonald, age 81, of Vidalia, died Sunday, January 21, 2018, in Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County and lived there until moving to Toombs County ten years ago. She was the Valedictorian of the 1954 graduating class of Montgomery County High School at Kibbee. She was the owner of McDonald Income Tax Service in Vidalia. She attended Tarrytown Baptist Church and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Billy Wayne McDonald; and her parents, Phillip E. and Irene Hester Humphrey; two brothers, Elzie Humphrey and J.C. Humphrey and two sisters, Mattie Mae Pruitt and an infant sister, Betty Emily Humphrey.
Ms. McDonald is survived by two sons, Barry Doyle McDonald and wife Kathy of Tarrytown, and Benny McDonald of Suwanee; one brother, Audrey Humphrey of Vidalia; nine grandchildren, one aunt, one uncle, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 27th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Emory Fennell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
