Sylvia (Meeks) Hall

Mrs. Sylvia Meeks Hall, age 82, of Vidalia, died Thursday, April 25, 2024, at her home, following an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, living in Jacksonville, Florida for seven years and in Toombs County most of her life.  She worked private duty at Meadows Memorial Hospital and as a sales representative at Belk Matthews for many years.  She attended Smith Street Baptist Church.  She is preceded in death by her husband, William Robert “Bobby” Hall; parents, John Bennett Meeks and Ellen Orlean Branch Meeks; and a brother, J.D. Meeks.  She enjoyed working in her yard, flowers, keeping an immaculate home, and raising dachshunds.

Her family includes three daughters, Barbara Hall and Beverly Hall of Vidalia, and Debbie Hall Williamson and husband Tim of Higgston; one sister, Rebecca “Becky” Meeks Driggers of Vidalia; one brother, Wedrell Meeks and wife Betty of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Tyler Still and fiancé Taylor “Liz” Little, Justin Williamson and wife Melissa, Ailey Williamson Howell and husband David, and Daniel Williamson and fiancé Summer Hinson; one great-grandchild, Rylee Harper Williamson; one step-great-grandchild, brother-in-law, Victor Hall and wife Helen of the Center Community; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 29th, 11:30 until 12:30.

A graveside service will be Monday afternoon at 1:00 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jonathan Shepard officiating.

The family would like to thank special friend and caregiver, Melanie Johnson, for her compassionate and loving care of our mother.
