Joyce (Hadden) Fields

Joyce Hadden Fields, age 79, of the Normantown Community, died Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, following an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Normantown all of her life.  She worked at Oxford Industries in Vidalia and more recently worked at Savannah Luggage Works.  She was Baptist by faith and, earlier in her life, she attended Normantown Baptist Church.  She enjoyed fishing, blue grass festivals, music, singing, yard work, and the outdoors.  She was a loving and hardworking mother.  She is preceded in death by her son, Eric Fields; parents, George Ivey Hadden and Jeanette Willis Hadden; and two siblings, Margie Hadden Beckum and Ivey “Son” Hadden.

Her family includes two children, Rhonda Fields Edge and Fred Lawrence of  Rock Springs Community, and Randy Fields, Sr. of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Jennifer Tidwell and husband Billy of Kibbee Community, Randy Fields, Jr. of Statesboro, Kyle S. Edge and wife Brittany of Johnson Corner Community, Erica Fields, Slade Fields and wife Allison of Soperton, and Tabitha Fields of Petross Community; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Hadden and wife Debbie, and Mark Hadden and wife Sharon, all of Normantown; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon, March 14th, from 1:30 until 2:30 with a graveside funeral service at 3:00 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
