Mrs. Willie Mae King Sheppard Sikes, age 92, of Lyons, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016, in the Griffin House in Claxton, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, and lived there most of her life.  She worked at the Cabaret Restaurant and the York Restaurant for many years.  She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Lyons.  She was preceded in death by two children, William Nathaniel Sheppard and Francis Howell Sheppard; a grandson, Joe Memory; parents, William Horace King and Willie Ann Smith King; and four brothers, Ivy King, Howard King, Durwood King, Edward King, and a sister, Betty King Knight.

Mrs. Sikes is survived by Sarah Sheppard Memory of Wrightsville; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sheppard Peeples and husband Gordon Pooler; four grandchildren, Lyn Sheppard Keiser and husband Lance of Auburn, Nebraska, Kay Memory Spivey and husband Mark of Kibbee, Kelli Sheppard Price and husband Randy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Nathan Sheppard of Athens; a granddaughter-in-law, Pam Garrett Memory of the Kibbee Community; eleven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Carter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
