Gray’s Landing Community,

Mr. Wendell Kight, age 75, of the Gray’s Landing Community, died Friday, July 14, 2017, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Treutlen County and grew up there.  He lived in Vidalia most of his life, and moved to Gray’s Landing in 1998.  He was production manager for Chickasha Mobile Homes, and was co-owner of both, Circle Mobile Homes and Wildwood Mobile Homes.  He worked at Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro for several years, and retired from Plant Hatch.  After retiring, he sold onions for Johnny Beasley at the Atlanta Farmer’s Market.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James Curtis “Jake” Kight and Allie Vee Toler Kight.

Mr. Kight is survived by his wife, Martha Kight of Gray’s Landing; four children, Kurt Kight and wife Debra of Vidalia, Keith Kight of Augusta, Angela Herndon and husband Glenn of the Ohoopee Community, and Betty NeeSmith of Gray’s Landing; one sister, Wonnell Foskey of Soperton; six grandchildren, Jake Kight, Allie Kight, Jay Owens, Niki Owens, Steve Howell, and Brittany Foster; five great-grandchildren, and two nieces, Gennell Dorsey and Deneice Hanson.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 16th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
