Lyons,

Mrs. Wanda Sharpe Etchison, age 67, of Lyons, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, a 1967 graduate of Montgomery County High School.  She lived in Vidalia for a short time, in San Antonio, Texas for thirty-six years, and returned to Toombs County in 2006.  She was a homemaker, a licensed cosmetologist, and was Methodist by faith.  She was preceded in death by two husbands, David Duncan and Melvin Etchison, Sr.; step-son, Mickey Etchison; and parents, Dewitt and Ruth Pye Sharpe.

Mrs. Etchison is survived by her son, Brandon Etchison of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Jazmine Etchison and Brittney Etchison; four sisters, Teresa Lynn and husband Steve of Duluth, Kathy Pelkey and husband Randy of Springtown, Texas, Nan Winge and husband Johnny of Alston, and Sarah Gray and husband Ernie of Alston; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Antwane Wallace officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sharpe Cemetery near Alston.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
